Contributing to Volara
The following guide will walk you through the process of mining Volara.
What is Mining?
Mining is the process of gathering data from X. Miners use a bot to gather data from X, and store it encrypted on their Google Drive.
Miners are given Volara tokens ($VOL) for their work. It's the best way to recieve VOL tokens on the Volara network.
A Note on Credentials
Volara uses two credentials to perform mining on Vana:
- X username and password, for access to the Twitter API
- Google OAUTH, for storing your mined X data in Google Drive.
We recommend creating a new X account specifically for mining, to avoid any issues with your main account.
Recommended Environment
We recommend using a Linux environment for mining, specifically Ubuntu 22.04.
Most Volara miners choose to run on a VPS such as AWS EC2.
